Our Vineyard
Established in 1995 and situated in the rolling hills of the Yarra Valley at Kangaroo Ground, Eagle Ridge Estate has been earning accolades since our first vintage in 2003.
We are a family owned vineyard and wine producer on a mission – to produce wines of excellence and passion that exemplify the Yarra Valley’s cool climate environment and that represent excellent value-for-money.
With no cellar door sales, we reach our customers by word-of-mouth and through our inclusion on the wine lists of select restaurants and retail out lets throughout the Yarra Valley area.
Our wines
Eagle Ridge Estate wines are lovingly crafted by master vintner, (you’ll know her from her work at Punt Road Wines). Our wine maker works closely with the Eagle Ridge owners, Stephen and Linda Gist, to create fruit capable of producing wines of elegance, clarity and intensity.
We then spare no expense in giving our wines the best possible chance of reaching their true potential.
While our aromatic wines are available for immediate release, our wooded wines are carefully aged prior to release, held on French Oak for up to 18 months, then bottle-aged for a further six months.
The result is a range of wines that are ready to drink upon release, but that will also continue to develop over some years.
The current vintages
Eagle Ridge Estate offers Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot, Cabernet and Shiraz varietals from vintages dating back to 2004 (identifiable by the old label) although many are now limited in availability (see the “Our Wines” area of this site).
Also contributing to our limited supply is the fact that our recent vintages have been subject to drought and severe frost conditions (the joys of winemaking). As a result some of our 2006 wines have been blended with fruit source from local vineyards and are labelled as South Ridge to differentiate them from 100% estate produced wines. However, they are still of exceptional quality.
Our promise
We recognise that purchasing wines on-line, without tasting, has its risks. So we give you this guarantee; if any Eagle Ridge Estate wine does not live up to its promise of quality and value, we invite you to return the balance of the purchase and we will refund your money in full.
